This is one of my favorite Sushi places to go to, or take people to for the first time. They have amazing lunch specials, but just in general, they make some extremely awesome sushi there.
Niwano Hana has a very wide array of specialty rolls as well as sushi grade fish that can’t come any fresher. Other than their excellent quality sashimi sushi, I recommend from their specialty rolls the Volcano Roll, Spicy Scallop Roll and Crunchy Shrimp Roll.
I have tried almost every Japanese restaurant in the region and after staying one month in Japan earlier this year (I stayed for a month in Matsuyama this last winter) I became quite picky with the Japanese food I like.
So many cool lunch options on the menu, you’ll always be able to get what you want. I can’t wait to try some of their box specials and their Nabeyaki Udon! Really I can’t wait to try so much more sushi here!
I love this place. True, it’s only a five minute walk from my house but it’s well above average in quality. Most nights, I see three or four sushi chefs.
The sushi is great quality, excellent ratio of fish to rice. I think they use a little less sushi vinegar than most places, but my favorite place in NY did the same and I like it. Not too much wasabi either to mask the fish.
My co-worker recommended this place to us and we try to stop by whenever we are in town. The sushi here is outstanding and the chefs are very friendly. The entrees and service are also excellent. Be sure to hit this place early since it gets kind of crowded during dinner time.
The food is excellent: the daily specials are fascinating (and usually extremely good) and the regular menu items are delicious. The service is attentive and efficient, and the hosts make each customer feel like an old friend. This is on my very short list of favorite restaurants.
Very innovative rolls and good considering it’s location in a strip mall. Found that the value for lunch is much better than dinner. Great bento boxes (can switch out the rolls for others for an extra cost).
